Review: Lodge Paradize Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The Lodge Paradize Hotel
Vacationing in the city center of Kuala Lumpur doesn’t necessarily mean staying at a 5-star hotel. Although, having the luxury to do so would always be a welcoming treat. Being a sucker for cheap everythings (plus being on a tight budget for that month), I decided to
opt for a reasonable aka cheap hotel – smack in the middle of town – The Lodge Paradize Hotel (website).
Construction In Progress

This wasn’t my first time staying here. In fact, I have become fond of the place ever since my first stay. It has been a couple of years since my last visit. And I was hoping that nothing has changed. Upon arriving at the reception, I noticed that some construction was going on and according to the front desk clerk; they were making a new reception office. Of course, construction comes with severe noise. So, we were placed in a room that was situated at the top-most floor – Level 3. Luckily, the noise was fairly apparent. I didn’t find it annoying at all. Plus, I wasn’t indoors during the day, so it was absolutely fine with me.
Standard Room

What wasn’t thrilling was the fact that the water heater was not working, giving us no choice but to have a cold shower at 9pm. We did mention this to the clerk in charge, but no technician was available to fix it so we had to just suck it up, and wait for the next day for this to be corrected. True to their word, the issue was rectified the following day.
Raja Chulan Monorail Station
We chose a Standard Room which cost MYR 140 per night including breakfast. Quite a tempting price for a cheapskate like me; considering that a night at Concorde would cost double that number. And, the best thing about this lodge is its location. It’s within a few steps from Pavilion (shopping paradise) and the Raja Chulan monorail is right across the street. Extremely convenient!
Restaurant and Pool

They also have their own restaurant at the front of the lodge equipped with a non-functional pool. This restaurant serves delicious fried rice and the Chinese fried ‘mantou’ bun is to die for. I’m still fantasizing about this extremely yummy treat. My 1-year old loves it too!

Breakfast Coupon
In the morning, you can satisfy your hunger at the breakfast corner around the back of the lodge. Guests are usually served with a buffet of fried rice, fried noodles, fried vermicelli and fried eggs to top it off as well as a free flow of coffee, tea and orange juice.

So the question is, would I come here again? Definitely! Would I recommend this place to others? No doubt!
